Welcome to Charleston's Historical Shem Creek the home for fishing & fun you'll never forget. My name is Christopher Chappell, you can call me "Chappy." I will be both your captain and fishing guide on your private inshore fishing charters. I'm a Charleston native and have been fishing these waters since I was old enough to hold a rod. No one knows better than a local, but fishing isn't about me, it's about you getting out on the water with family and close friends and all the pure joy when someone calls out "FISH ON!"

When you're ready to chase trophy redfish in the Lowcountry marshes Captain Chappy has you covered. I GUARANTEE you'll enjoy yourself and have a great experience while catching fish, no matter what your experience level. It From professional anglers to anyone that's never touched a fishing rod I will be there every step of the way to ensure your fishing charter meets and exceeds your expectations.

The SC low country offers some of the best fishing on the east coast, which in large can only be reached by skiff type boats designed specifically for the shallow waters like we have here in the "flats" or low country. I've got 2 boats in the fleet each of them outfitted specifically for the type of fishing and size of your party. The 23' Seapro Bay Boat is my larger capacity boat that's ideal for nearshore & inshore fishing. The other a 17' Krkland Technical Poling Skiff, with a max of 2 passengers that I use for fly fishing and sight fishing trips. For anyone new to fishing I'll make sure you and your group get the best fishing expierience I can offer even if you've never even touched a fishing rod before. What Types of Fish Can You Catch In Charleston?

Your fishing trip will depart from shem creek. On your private inshore fishing trip through the low country we target Charleston's notorius Red Drum (spotted redfish), Spotted seatrout (speckled trout), flounder, sheepshead, and even sharks.

What Should I Bring On My Fishing Trip?

I want your expierience to be a memorable one, but all for the right reasons. I've put together a small checklist of what to bring on your fishing trip so that you and your party can be as comfortable on your charter as possible so all the focus on the fishing. There is a cooler with ice and bottled water on board but anything else you will need that is not fishing equipment you will need to bring with you for your charter.

Sun Protection

The sun shines bright in Charleston, sun protection is important. Sunglasses and sunscreen are a must. A hat, light long sleeve shirt, and neck gaitor will also keep you shielded from the sun. A light rain jacket if the forecast calls for rain.


Daily Medications

Bring any types of medications or perscriptions you may need for the entire day. We will be out on the water for three to six hours, sometimes even longer if the fish are biting and you extend your trip.


Food Snacks Drinks

Being on your feet battling to reel in those trophy "Spotted Redfish" that Charleston inshore fishing is famous for can create quite the appetite. There are no convience stores on the water so whatever you bring is all there will be if you get hungry or thirsty. A bagged lunch, snacks and some drinks are recommended.


Medium Soft Side Coolers (No Wheels)

The sun seems to shine a bit brighter on the water, and you'll want some ice cold refreshments to cool you off. Bring your stocked small to medium soft sided coolers on the boat and enjoy. Alcohol is permitted. NO GLASS!

BYOB, bring your small - medium soft sided coolers full with beverages of your choice alcholic or not, this is your charter bring what you like, just ensure there is NO GLASS.
