Awesome fishing charter! Highly recommend for tourists and locals alike. Booked a Sunday as part of my wife's birthday present and was pleasantly surprised with how many fish we caught. Captain Chappy is very experienced and highly knowledgeable. Will be hopefully booking another soon.

We had an amazing trip with Captain Chappy! We caught more redfish than we could count. I was very pleased with our Captain who made our trip so easy and was flexible to work with our schedule. We could not have ask for a better trip. It was just my gf and I on his boat which was a perfect experience. My gf was not too familiar with cast/fishing in general. He was able to help teach her all the ropes with casting, holding fish correctly, and baiting the hook. Even though she did not have to do any of that unless she wanted, he was more than willing to take care of everything. It was an amazing trip that we will not forget.

All I can say is WOW. Captain Chappy is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, polite, and definitely knows where the fish like to hide. 12/10 recommend. If you’re looking for a guide to show you a good time, this is the man to book. Will for sure be returning in the future.

Chappy is the gold standard for fishing charters in Charleston and the surrounding islands. Patient, informative, friendly and he always finds the fish for us. Chappy is just simple a really nice guy and a great fishing guide. We tried by other charters in years past then found Chappy and he is the only guide we will go out with. The guy doesn’t toot his own horn (hopefully he gets this reference) Don’t hesitate at all - book Chappy with confidence and you won’t be disappointed.

This is the second year that we have booked a fishing trip with Chappy at Flatsbroke. He's an incredible captain and guide and knows the territory well. We have really enjoyed our time with him as he's very friendly and he's directed us to some great fishing spots and we have always had some great action. It was a blast this past week catching a 25" and 28" redfish and several trout as well.

We did a half day fishing trip with Captain Chappy this week and it was awesome! He was very knowledgeable and we came back with lots of fish! We had our 2 little kids with us too and he was great with them — teaching them about the fish, letting them reel fish in. We came back to the dock with fresh fish. He filleted them for us and we had it cooked up for lunch. A great day! When we’re back in the area, we’ll be calling Captain Chappy again!

Had a great day on the water with Chappy. He’s a great guide and fisherman who can definitely put you on them. Very knowledgeable of the geography too. Especially personable and patient with his guests. If you want to eat fresh fish that day, he’ll give you the hook up for that too.

Incredible day on the water with Captain Chappy. Very professional, knowledgeable, and down to earth. I've done a couple of chartes in Charleston, and this one by far was the best. We caught Red Fish, Sea Trout, Black Drum, and more! Can't wait to book again!

We’ll be back!

We spent the afternoon with Captain Chappy on our honeymoon. We meticulously researched boats and captains & felt an overall good vibe from him & Flatsbroke Fishing Charters. We couldn’t have been more right. Chappy was extremely laid back, easy to talk to, knowledgeable and welcoming. We felt totally comfortable & well taken care of. It was a wonderful sunny afternoon on the water, relaxing & catching a few fish each! We would come back to South Carolina specifically to fish with Chappy, we were that impressed!

The day started slow but that was because some one was in the good spot. But chappy didn’t take no time to move us till we got on the fish. This was my 1st ever inshore fishing charter and I loved it. Me and my wife had a amazing time. Chappy was down to earth very relaxed and very knowledgeable of the fish and all the areas. Will never forget this trip. He was able to help me catch my very 1st red fish. I will be booking with him once more when the weather cools down.

Half day trip, life-long memories

Captain Chappy was delightful to work with from start to finish. He responded quickly after we booked our trip and he was very helpful making us feel well accommodated. He was ready and waiting for us on the dock and had already caught our live bait a few hours earlier before sunrise. Our family of five had a perfect time on the water with lots of laughter and conversation. Captain Chappy was an instant friend and made us feel at home and welcomed. We plan to come back and see Captain Chappy again soon. Thanks Captain!

Half day trip with captain Chappy

Chappy was a super captain that knows the water and the spots. We had a couple of dolphins that kept chasing our fish, but it was fun, and we caught a lot of trout, they were too small and a red that was a little too big. It is hot in Charleston in late August, and the fish usually aren’t biting, but he got us on some fish. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a casual fishing trip.

Going with captain Chappy was great. He is a local resident and knows the fishing area very well. He made the trip enjoyable by engaging in conversations with each of the members in our group. Chappy was great, my two grandsons, Aidan and Connor had a great time as did my son, son in law and myself. Couldn’t ask for a better guide. He knows the area well and was great with the kids. We’ll be booking again for a fall trip.
